About Me

Standing tall at five feet ten inches (and yes, it’s quite hard for most people to come up to my expectations), I’m a stand-up comedian who found her voice at 40, proving it’s never too late to reinvent yourself and chase your dreams. Through my comedy, I bring you the unfiltered, hilarious reality of Indian households, challenging stereotypes one punchline at a time.

"Life doesn’t just begin at 40, turns out it gets funnier too! Half our lives, we women are told to be quiet and polite and to wait our turn while hardly anyone’s listening to us. I say, for the other half, let’s stand up and make some noise! Let’s make ourselves heard and show them that we don’t’ just know how to care, but also how to dare!"

My Journey

Art has always been my sanctuary. Whether it’s getting lost in the swirling cosmos of Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Nights,’ feeling the soul-stirring verses of Amrita Pritam and Gulzar, or ‘Jhooming’ to everything from Kishore Kumar’s melodies to Taylor Swift’s latest hits. Life has been a beautiful blend of the classical and contemporary, much like my comedy.

The stage has always held a special magic for me. From playing a tree in school plays to being an emcee at events, the thrill of live performance – knowing there are no retakes, but the promise of instant connection with the audience – has always been intoxicating.

The Comedy Chapter

My comedy journey began in Goa, 2017, when stand up comedy began to boom in India but I found something missing. While I loved the whole comedy scene in India and the hilarious take of married comedians (mostly men) about marriage, kids and their wives, I found myself thinking about the other side of the story. What about the daily adventures of juggling a home, husband, kids, extended families, and the perpetual dance with patriarchy? There were countless untold stories waiting to be shared through laughter and I couldn’t resist giving it a shot to become that story teller.

Now, seven years into my comedy career, I’ve turned these everyday moments into stories that resonate with audiences across the country. From the absurdity of societal expectations to the pressures faced by women in desi households, my comedy reflects the reality of Indian homes with a generous sprinkle of humor.
